El Pueblo Unido Jamas Sera Vencido!

Huge victory, our precious NY waterways have been protected and defended by a coalition of surfers, ecologists, residents and elected officials. Oil spills, fracking, liquid natural gas terminals,  we the people won't bend over while corporate greed and stupidity poisons us, eats our natural resources, and destroys our planet.

The Atlantic Sea Island Group has withdrawn its application  for a proposed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal 13 miles off Long Beach! The NYC Chapter of Surfrider Foundation has been working on a campaign against this terminal since 1994.  We’ve put in countless hours rallying, pounding the streets with petitions, sending in postcards, emails, letters to press and all but shouting from the rooftops NO LNG!
"Congratulations and THANK YOU to all of our supporters, to our sister Chapters in Central and Eastern Long Island to the Jersey Chapters. Special thanks to Kui Nakamura and Gene McLoin for bringing awareness to this issue and starting up the campaign. Also thanks are in order to  Andy Stepanian, Assembleywoman Audrey Pheffer for being the first to stand up in opposition with us, NY Legislator Denenberg’s Task ForceNY Governor Christie, Clean Ocean Action and everyone else who rallied to get this job done. *high five*!!"

Trocadero: Walter Combs classic 1944 film tells the story of the Hollywood music scene during the Big Band era. About eight minutes into the story my mother, Betty Bradley appears singing "Bullfrog". The vocalist with the Bob Chester Orchestra, Betty Bradley also sang with Milton Berle and Rudy Vallee.
