Warriors for Light
My name is Donna and I am a sociologist. Several years ago I set up this blog as a tribute to the New York scene I loved. Following 9/11, the fall of CBGBs, the deaths of three Ramones and so many others who built our city from the heart up, I wanted to keep my people with me. In recent years I've become increasingly focused on the hidden injuries of youth, the damaged collective core, the inner life of the child--the scars we carry with us, unseen, unspoken. As above so below, inside, outside, individually, collectively, there are no limits to the pain we can endure, and no boundaries to our capacity for healing.
These darks times demand more love and service than ever before. We misfits, outcasts, cretins and warthogs who have survived the darkness--shame, social stigma, abuse, addiction, alienation, body hatred, mental illness, war, loss and illness are challenged to "live it and give it" as never before. God has made of us the true fishers of men and women--regardless of how we define God--or don't. We are at the front lines of a new age, working for the greater good, wounded healers, altruists, soul surfers, warriors for light. Hey ho, let's go!
